...Well, I mean. In theory. He played the violin! And he owned a dressing gown. And he was definitely the sort to play at ungodly hours if he needed to think.
Look the point is I can't sleep and I haven't played for a couple of days, emulating Sherlock Holmes makes me feel fancy.
Actually yes, I have. Sort of. I figured out how to fix this piece I'm writing. I don't know if that really counts as a mystery but it was annoying me, so!
I can bullshit my way through four basic guitar chords and sing like someone ran over my throat with an ATV.
So no, not really.
I wish I did though.
[It's a surprisingly intimate confession for him. He'd never let anyone listen to him - not ever. But music can be a good outlet sometimes, even when you suck at it.]
Honestly, it's been years. I'd probably have to start from scratch.
Plus my guitar is broken.
[Because...he broke it. He won't throw it out though. Sometimes he worries he might have some hoarder-like tendencies given all the shit he won't throw out from when he was seventeen. Then again, maybe he's just watched too much Hoarders.]
Do you sing too? Or just play?
I mean, not "just" anything. The fact you can play is amazing enough. How long have you been playing?
as your neighbor, i feel the need to point out that there must be other ways for you to live out your sherlock holmes fantasy without waking me up in the middle of the night
whenever i'm on netflix i feel like i waste more time looking for something to watch than actually watching. what's the last good show or movie you've seen?
i like reading classics, autobiographies, science fiction, or anything that takes my interest. if you like reading, you should try it. if you don't... it still might work. doing it could bore you to sleep.

2. Would you calm down? It's just a bit of blood, not irradiated goo.
3. If I can't pretend to be Sherlock Holmes by playing the violin at 1am in my dressing gown, what's the point.
4. For both our sakes, I’m going to pretend I didn’t see that photo.
5. You shouldn’t ask questions you don’t want honest answers to.
6. 'You have great lift technique', aka your last words to me before passing out in my arms like a fainting damsel.
7. I tried to warn you.

I like to write music. It's therapeutic, I suppose.
[ Why does that sound so pretentious..? God hopefully it doesn't come across like that. ]

That's cool as shit and I'm honestly jealous as hell right now.

There's always the option to practice. You could be bullshitting your way through five in no time.

Yeah, I do.
[ Something of a confession for her too, that. Like him, she'd never do so in front of anyone. Not anymore, anyway. ]
I think my dog would disagree; he hates when I play.
Since I was six, so a while.

The guy who used to live there was deaf as a post, sort of let me slip into bad music-related habits.
Won't happen again.

just curious, is there any particular reason why you're trying to emulate sherlock holmes in the middle of the night?
no subject
Honestly, I just don't sleep all that well, and I've always loved the Sherlock Holmes stories, so...it sort of just happened.

i respect that
i usually read a book until the words get blurry

But I'm also too far away to come rescue you, so a warning was the best I could offer you.
