The Stuck in an Elevator Meme

This one's pretty self-explanatory! Who knows why you came to this building, but it looks like the elevator is on the fritz, and whoever you last stepped into it with will be your companion for the next who-knows-how-long. Hopefully they're not a murderer. Have fun!
Directions:
1. Post a TL, blank or with a starter, with your character name and canon in the subject line.
2. Tag around to other TLs!
3. Have fun, be respectful, follow typical DWRP rules.
4. Spread the word if you feel so inclined so more can join in on the fun!
Kyojuro Rengoku | Demon Slayer | Anime Only - MUGEN TRAIN SPOILERS
im here to harass
A quick glance back to Kyojuro, a clearing of his throat, and then he presses the number '5'. Not his floor, just an effort to get this box held by a string moving again.
The effort is futile, of course.
Slowly, he looks up at the ceiling of the elevator, at the little, square door above them. It's definitely an option. ]
I am thoroughly harrassed
[Also, he'd probably set the elevator on fire.
[Rengoku's eyes follow Akaza's up to the square panel on the ceiling, and he says:] You won't fit through that.
[It's not an option!]

Barrington Whelk | The Raven Cycle | OTA
ANGST
Not since before he'd left for New York City for Spring Break- with a kiss sealed on two different pairs of lips that he'd be back. It was before Whelk's family fell into ruin, before Czerny died, before Francis hadn't come back, before Whelk stopped picking up his calls. He'd left messages on his voicemail, different but with the same tone as the one before it. Loving and aching and carelessly horrible: It’s okay if things aren't the same, you know. I'm just worried. So please just let me know you and Czerny are okay-- I care about you, Barry.
He left messages for Noah until the number disconnected, but there was no one to listen.
It's late afternoon, and Francis hits the button to the elevator in the administrative building, heading up to the faculty lounge on the next floor before heading home. He'd realized that Whelk was a teacher here, that they taught in the same building, but standing on either side of elevator doors is the first time they've come face-to-face. Francis flushes, yearning in his blue eyes. There's a cowardly moment where he almost wants to declare that he'll take the stairs instead. But he can't, of course -- not if he wants this job to be something other than painful for both of them.
It hadn't even occurred to him when he'd applied; Aglionby students did not become Aglionby teachers.
So he steps into the elevator, even if he doesn't have the words to put into a greeting beyond the sad nod of his head. Doesn't know how to say hello without sounding wounded or angry. So he just looks at the elevator panel and notes they're both heading to the same floor. It's fine, it'll be a short trip, it saves him from having to cross into his space.
There's a strange sort of energy on the air, something charged as the doors close. They're only about halfway to the next floor when there's a heavy, ugly sound of metal clicking, a heavy clunk and the elevator car shakes before seizing in place. It doesn't slip, but it's troubling enough that Francis ends up with a hand clinging to Whelk's arm in some reflex that seven years hasn't wiped out.
The lights dim to emergency lighting, and Francis curses under his breath.]
no subject
[He hadn't, of course. But he certainly didn't think he'd ever have to face him again. He'd hoped he wouldn't have to. He definitely didn't expect to see him here, back at Aglionby after disappearing seven years ago. After all, Aglionby students did not become Aglionby teachers - and yet, here they both are, standing in the elevator.
[And then, just as quickly, before Whelk has any time to process what to say or how to act, they're both stuck in the elevator. Francis clutches his arm, and Whelk jumps just as the lights dim to emergency lighting. He echoes Francis's muttered curse.
[It's a fair enough distraction, at least. Something to make small talk about that isn't the weather. Whelk always does better with commiseration than with actual conversation. And he's definitely not ready to talk about anything that should be said between the two of them. Now he doesn't even have to offer an awkward greeting. Instead, he can just say:] Damn thing...
[Francis is still clutching his arm, which Whelk tries to subtly step away from. It feels wrong to have the man's hands anywhere near him. They're as good as strangers now. Whelk certainly isn't the person that Francis thinks he remembers.]
You'd think for how much money this place makes-- [He cuts himself off with busying his fist against the door open button.] The damn elevators would work. Jesus...

You know what is neat? Elevators that just stop working, thereby keeping him from attending through no fault of his own. Outstanding work universe, he owes you one.
For the most part he's given the blue haired dude in there with him the usual courtesies; not standing super close, acknowledging him but keeping to himself, all that. Only now, he gives him another look as if to say;
'Hope you're not claustrophobic.' ]

[Yes, Kunimi knows that isn't what Ronan meant. No, he doesn't care. Even with the rocky start the two of them have gotten off to, he finds Ronan's reaction insultingly over the top and he'll be a shit about that if he wants.
With a loud sigh, he leans against the back of the elevator and crosses his arms over his chest. Welp. Time to wait this out.]

I’m here to cause grief for Barrington Whelk
Ah. Good morning, Mr. Whelk.
[It’s barely 7am. Classes haven’t even started yet. Rowing practice, you see.
[The elevator jostles, makes a loud mechanical sound, then stops. The emergency lighting comes on, and Gansey furrows his brow up at the ceiling.]
Strange. Does this elevator typically have problems?
I’d expect Aglionby’s maintenance to be up to date with all the donations that go toward it.
[He sounds vaguely disapproving. Listen to this kid talking like he owns the place.]

He makes some halfhearted noise that barely counts as communication and keeps his gaze firmly on the line of numbered buttons in front of him. Despite his arms full of books, Richard Campbell Gansey III brings the crisp smell of morning dew and fresh-mown grass sweeping into the elevator with him - right, rowing practice. If he's been to the library since, he's miraculously managed to dodge its musty, dusty aroma. Hell, Whelk presumes that if he happens to look over, he'll still see hints of daybreak's light glinting off the lighter strands in Gansey's tousled hair.
And this is the boy king that wants to usurp his claim on the ley line. Sickening. Give him all the world's gifts and he still needs more.]
Oh, for god's sake. [This? This little nightmare that's trying to take over Whelk's day before he's a full cup of coffee into the morning? This isn't happening.] You can complain to daddy later. For now, just make yourself useful by getting out of my way.
[There are ways to alert security about a broken elevator. Any broken elevator. Usually an alert button, or an intercom that connects directly with their office - yes, there are both of them side by side, with EMERGENCY in big red print. Whelk hammers the button with a closed fist and grumbles into the intercom:]
Stuck in the east wing, between second and third floors. Anyone on this? [No response. Not even the usual hum indicating an active connection.] Hello? Broken elevator in the - hello??
