There’s Something I Need You to Know
Please don’t cancel me

Everyone has their secrets. Some are bigger than others, but it may be any number of things that are weighing down on your conscience. One night, whether it induced by lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, or some supernatural force, you decide to come out with it once and for all. It’s time to confess.

Directions:
1. Post a TL with your character name and canon in the subject line. You can either leave your TL blank for others to come confess, or you can put a confession in your top level. Your character’s confession can be anything from “I killed someone” to “I’m in love with my best friend” to “I’ve never eaten chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream”. Any and all confessions are welcome - in fact, feel free to put a few different ones in your TL if you want people to pick and choose!
2. Respond to other people’s TLs with either your character’s own confession, or with a response to their’s.
3. Be respectful, follow basic dwrp meme rules, etc.!

Open to all fandom characters, OCs, AUs, CRAUs, etc.. Tagging around is highly encouraged!

No. It’s ok.

[Harsh, but...true? It’s an idea that’s still difficult for Ren to upset. You grow up learning to respect your parents and their judgment, and Ren had never been what he’d consider to be a bad or difficult child. He’d never truly gotten himself into trouble. So why would they believe the first person to tell them otherwise? They should have known him better than that, right?

[So what, then? Were they that ashamed to be told otherwise? Or had they simply been waiting for a good excuse to put him out? His heart aches painfully to think about it - no, burns.]

It makes me mad too.

Are the people you're staying with nice? They are treating you well, right?

[He didn't know what made his parents do the unthinkable to their son but he wasn't sure if he should pry into it. Right now, all that mattered was to see if his senpai was okay.]

If not, I could always have someone come and get you.

[After all, if there one thing thing Ken knew? The moment he asked for Mitsuru's help? Shit was going to get real.]

They’re great.

[“They” being just as much Sojiro as Futaba, even though it’s really only the older man who’s officially taken him in. Their relationship had started out rocky, but as of late, those two have become the closest thing to family Ren now realizes he’s probably every truly had. Even so, fondness swells in his chest at his kohai’s protective nature. It isn’t unwelcome to realize that Ken would help him if he needed it.]

[Ken might not know Ren that well but this was the least he could do. After everything the brunette went through, it was all the more important to reach out and help people out.]

[Ren considers it, though he didn’t mean to text Ken in the first place, and he can tend to be rather closed off about his emotions in general.

[It’s a nice offer. Mostly what he’s thinking at that point is...]

Even so, it doesn't stop your parents from doing what they did. It's just not fair.

Aren't adults suppose to take care of the young?

[Or at least, that's what he liked to hope. He was aware that there would be adults that wouldn't believe the young but parents were a little different.

They were suppose to take care of their children no matter what. To hear this was reminding him how disappointing humanity can be.]

[That doesn't exactly make him feel better - in fact, it makes him even angrier, though of course not at Ken - but it's not unexpected.]

Let’s just say I had police officers not believe me when I told the truth. I knew why they didn’t but it still hurt.

[The way that statement hits Ren in the chest is hard to describe - like the wind's been knocked out of him. He's glad Ken can't see him, that they're not in person right now, because the look on his face clearly conveys a side of him that he doesn't want the younger boy to ever have to see.

[He knows all too well what that feels like, and it pisses him the hell off.]

It’s fine, it was a long time ago so it doesn’t bother me.

[He wasn’t lying but it doesn’t bother him quite as much as it use to. However, it does make him wonder which people to trust now.

For a moment, he was wondered what to write back. With that, he gave a small sigh. He really didn’t want to think about it but...]

And I got people who do trust and listen to me. You’re doing that right now.

[Ren doubts that, considering that Ken bothered to bring it up in the first place, and considering that he knows exactly how that feels. It should bother him even if it doesn't. It's bullsh--]

[For a moment, Ken just stared at the screen. There were a lot of other things he was keeping vague but for right now? Ren can't see it but there a small smile appearing on his face.]

Normally I'm use to having my teammates believe me so it's kind of nice to hear someone else say that for once.

I'll have to admit, I wasn't expecting you to say that Ren-san.

[Because Ken really had no idea how to respond back to that. Outside of his teammates, it was rare for someone to outright say that to him.]

A little bit. It’s kind of unusual to hear people call me their friend outside of my teammates.

It’s strange to actually see someone write or say it?

[That and he never really had any real friends outside of said teammates either.]
