There’s Something I Need You to Know
Please don’t cancel me

Everyone has their secrets. Some are bigger than others, but it may be any number of things that are weighing down on your conscience. One night, whether it induced by lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, or some supernatural force, you decide to come out with it once and for all. It’s time to confess.

Directions:
1. Post a TL with your character name and canon in the subject line. You can either leave your TL blank for others to come confess, or you can put a confession in your top level. Your character’s confession can be anything from “I killed someone” to “I’m in love with my best friend” to “I’ve never eaten chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream”. Any and all confessions are welcome - in fact, feel free to put a few different ones in your TL if you want people to pick and choose!
2. Respond to other people’s TLs with either your character’s own confession, or with a response to their’s.
3. Be respectful, follow basic dwrp meme rules, etc.!

Open to all fandom characters, OCs, AUs, CRAUs, etc.. Tagging around is highly encouraged!

It’s not even a secret. It was just a stupid fight. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I offered to pay for a car part that he was having trouble finding a decent version of. Temporarily, just until he could pay me back.

Apparently that makes me evil incarnate.

[He knows better than to offer Adam anything that can be misconstrued as charity, and yet he continues to do so. Hence his feeling like a total idiot. But Christ, is he not allowed to help his friends when they need it? He said Adam could pay him back.]

[ Ronan was the least bit surprised. This was a common occurrence between the two, and he couldn't help the roll of his eyes. ]

It’s the principle of thing! I just don’t get what the big deal is. I really don’t. I’m not pitying him, I just want to help. And beside that, this was a car that his father needed him to get working, so yes. I wanted to help move that along as quickly as possible. Does that really make me the devil? It’s ridiculous!

[Tired of pissing people off, tired of feeling like Adam hates him more often than he likes him, tired of burning himself out to carry everyone else’s weight, etc., etc.. Also, he hasn’t slept yet tonight. There’s that too.]

[ Ronan is trying to navigate around this delicate conversation and not accidentally stomp all over it. ]

[Not the same way he does me, Gansey thinks, but he doesn’t say so.]

Yeah. I know.

I’m being unreasonable. I really am tired. It’s just been a long night, I guess.

Were you out racing or are you in your room?

I can understand that as you can well see.

Do you want to watch a movie or something?

We can take a drive if you’d like, but if you’re thinking the Pig, then you know who has the keys, right?

[ One day, Gansey, one day.

With a grunt, he hoisted himself over his bed. Next to him, at the bottom of his bed, were his boots. Hunched over, Ronan lazily laced up his boots. Ronan was both sober and willing to go on a nightly drive with Gansey. And Ronan hoped that Gansey left himself relax even if it was just for a few hours. ]

I didn't wanna drive anyway. [ The edges of his lips quirked at the sight of Gansey. His stride did not halter and Ronan deliberately bumped shoulders as he passed on by. ] Hurry up before I change my mind. [ He wouldn't. ]

[kingseeking]

Of course not. You hate driving. [Sarcasm never sounds quite right on Richard Gansey III’s voice. He does grin a bit at the bumped shoulder though, and then plucks the keys to the Pig from his pocket and follows Ronan down the stairs and out of Monmouth Manufacturing.

[And there She is, waiting. Gansey takes a brief moment to admire the Pig before yanking the driver’s side door open and slipping inside. It’ll have to start tonight, he thinks, or they really won’t be going anywhere. Adam certainly won’t be doing them any favors.]

Go ahead and put your music on, Ronan. Loud.

[ There is something about the orange Camaro that called out to Ronan. Gansey would never let Ronan drive his prize possession, a new mother who wouldn't let anyone hold her baby. And it made Ronan want to drive it even more.

With an audible sigh, Ronan jerks open the passenger door and slams it shut once he has settled down into his seat. Ronan was loud in everything he did. He walked a little too heavy, slammed doors, clanked plates. People just assume that there is nothing gentle about Ronan. And, most of the time, that is true.

When Gansey spoke, Ronan pulls his lips back for a lopsided smirk. ] Fuck yes.

[ It's a new playlist because he was bored one night and wanted something new to listen to. To everyone else, the music sounded the same. A deep bass, blaring electronic music that reverberated through the old Camaro. ]

Let's go.

[kingseeking]

[True enough, to Gansey, the music Ronan plays sounds nigh indistinguishable from anything else he’s heard fed through the tape deck aux cord of his prized Pig. When he turns the key and kicks on the engine, the combined roar of the two competing sounds makes it difficult to hear him even when he shouts:] I think I remember this one.

Where to, Lynch?

[ Ronan's arm drapes out the opened window, fingers drumming along to the chaotic beat of the music. ] It's a good one, [ he says over the noise.

He sat there with his eyes closed, thinking about where their venture should go.] Where ever the fuck you want to go.

[kingseeking]

[Still shouting over the music:] How does the moon suit you?

[But with that, he's off and peeling down the road (if you can really call Gansey's driving "peeling off" anywhere) and headed in the direction of who knows where. With their earlier conversation still fresh on his mind, he's feeling both restless and aimless. Ronan always seems to find comfort in driving, so why not Gansey? He's sure they'll find something worth stopping to look at on the way.]
