There’s Something I Need You to Know
Please don’t cancel me

Everyone has their secrets. Some are bigger than others, but it may be any number of things that are weighing down on your conscience. One night, whether it induced by lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, or some supernatural force, you decide to come out with it once and for all. It’s time to confess.

Directions:
1. Post a TL with your character name and canon in the subject line. You can either leave your TL blank for others to come confess, or you can put a confession in your top level. Your character’s confession can be anything from “I killed someone” to “I’m in love with my best friend” to “I’ve never eaten chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream”. Any and all confessions are welcome - in fact, feel free to put a few different ones in your TL if you want people to pick and choose!
2. Respond to other people’s TLs with either your character’s own confession, or with a response to their’s.
3. Be respectful, follow basic dwrp meme rules, etc.!

Open to all fandom characters, OCs, AUs, CRAUs, etc.. Tagging around is highly encouraged!

[“Human” she says, and that makes Gansey’s lips fall into a frown behind his phone. It’s a dreary reminder that Blue does and probably always has seen through him. “Exposed” really does not begin to cover it. He knows well enough that the closest of his friends know the two sides of him, and it’s not that Blue and he aren’t close, but she’s been able to call him on his bullshit from the first moment they met. It’s an extremely discomfiting realization.]

You are certainly something. Very sturdy I’d say, yes.

[He considers leaving it at that. Maybe he should. It’s times like these that make Gansey want to withdraw into himself and put the mask back on, but as it is, that mask was already cast to the side the moment he sent that misdirected text. And he sent it in the first place because he was tired of hiding. At least tonight.]

Is that how you see me, Blue? Inhuman?

[That question caused Blue to stop for a moment. She had not expected him to continue the conversation. But she wasn’t about to stop giving him her honest opinion now.]

Yes and No.

[The next texts take some time for her to type. She thinks very carefully about what she sends because she wants him to understand what she really means.]

Yes because you’re more like a Demi God. Overly beautiful, charming; too powerful to be hurt or touched in any real way. We grew up in different worlds and I’m just starting to really get to know you.

I’m still trying to comprehend how you are real and even texting me right now.

[Less than a year ago she would have never expected to call the Raven Boys themselves friends of hers. Or even developing relationships with boys at all. That in itself was a whirlwind experience. But what followed was even more unexplainable. Magic forests, Dead Welsh kings, seeing the dead.]

[That last thought brought her more anxiety the more she lingered on it.]

But no because I’ve seen you hurt and I’ve seen your fear. I’ve seen what you look like when you’re feeling real joy. And I’ve watched you work through frustration. And I know you are a person and not just some unshakable force.

[A demi-god? Now there was a thought, and not a comforting one. Gansey knows that he presents a certain image to the world - especially to those that he doesn’t know very well - but he always thought it was more that of a Senator or a promising Harvard law student. Also not a comforting thought, but there’s something very discomfiting about being seen as otherworldly or...unshakable. Gansey is definitely shakable.

[It’s strange how much it eases him to see Blue recognize that in her next message. Gansey is a person with anxieties and insecurities and weaknesses and personality flaws (plenty of those) just like anyone else. He gets quite tired of being seen as exceptional for as much as he tries to.

[And yet still he holds back even now as he speaks to her. Here Blue is being so painfully honest that it’s uncomfortable, and here Gansey is still feeling the need to give a polite :) and say something pleasant.

[He owes her more than that.]

I feel like I should apologize to you, Blue. I feel like I’ve mislead you. Or I did once.

And I think I did so on purpose. I think do so to a lot of people.

I’m sorry for that. And I’m glad you saw through it. Honestly, sometimes I don’t even realize I’m...doing that until it’s done.

That probably doesn’t make much sense.

[It’s a practice that became a habit that became a trait. How depressing.]
