It's as the tagline says. Maybe you want to be here - have a few laughs, get to know some new people, make new friends, maybe take someone home - or, maybe you don't. Either way, you're here, complete with a name tag, a list of preferences, and a mysterious magical force that's keeping you from leaving. Whether compelled to sit at your table and wait for your next match, or to visit tables yourself, it's time to partake in a thrilling game of speed dating. And no, you don't have a choice, so you might as well make the most of it.

How to Play:
- Make a top level with your character name and canon in the subject line. Include in your top level what's written on your character's tag. You may use this format if you wish:

Feel free to assume that your character filled it out themselves, or that it was magically filled out for them when they arrived and they aren't able to remove it. Whatever suits your character best!

- Assume your character is either seated at a table awaiting matches, freely exploring the room, or being propelled by some otherworldly force to mingle. That is to say, tag around to other top levels and speed date away!

- It may be a good idea to put in your top-level some preferences for whether you are looking for shippy threads, friendship threads, funny threads, etc.. whatever you'd like!

- Tag around, have fun, be respectful, follow basic dwrp rules, etc.!

[ Is it really the same? But Tobio was so eager to hear Kindaichi's ideal date! ... So that he could take him out on one. ]

Yeah, at home is better. [ He agrees while thinking of the exact same thing. Tobio leans forward with one arm on the table while hiding a smile behind his own hand. ] So your ideal date is just a copy of mine? That's unfair...

[Kindaichi frowns a little, but it's 90% nerves because he can see Kageyama hiding a smile. Some people think Kageyama's smile is terrifying or unnatural - Kindaichi gets why, but it's always just given him butterflies. How embarrassing. He averts his eyes again, scratching awkwardly at the back of his head.]

I don't know, man. It doesn't really matter to me what we do-- I mean, whatever anyone does on dates, uh...

[God, this is nerve wracking. How does he gently say, "Any date with you, you moron"? His frown deepens.]

You want me to be real honest with you right now, Tobio? I mean like really honest.

[ He does notice Kindaichi acting more awkward and shy but Tobio's not sure what to make of it. Unfortunately, his social sense hasn't fully developed yet. ]

Yeah...? [ He says, soft and uncertain when Kindaichi asks if he wants him to be honest. Of course, who wouldn't want that? But something about the way Kindaichi asks is making Tobio feel nervous over what he's about to say. ]

[If Kageyama is nervous, Kindaichi is probably ten times so. Man, what did he just get himself into? He continues rubbing at the back of his head, lips twisted into a stubborn frown - but his frustration is mostly with himself.

[He drops his hand from the back of his head, crosses his arms, and shrugs. His eyes are on the table - anywhere but Kageyama.]

Man. Listen.

[Oh God, his heart is beating really fast all of a sudden. Yutaro, you idiot, what are you doing?

[He lets out a sigh, clearly frustrated. Again, that's only with himself.]

Look, all I ever wanted was a date with you, you know? Like how when we were kids, I always wanted to...do whatever we were doing, you know?

So, that. I just want to be with you. Er-- Wanted to be with you-- no...

Want. Yeah, want. I want to go on a date with you, so I don't care what we do or what it is, it's just that.

That's my ideal date, okay?

[ While Kindaichi explains himself, Tobio looks at him attentively, doing his best to digest everything that's being said... trying to understand.

When Kindaichi finally reaches his conclusion, the gears in Tobio's head does three full turns before a light bulb goes off and he finds himself blushing even harder than earlier. ]

Your ideal date is... any date with me? [ He clarifies while looking away. Tobio probably understands what Kindaichi means clear enough but it's just surprising! In a good way! That Kindaichi still feels the same. While Tobio.... well. His feelings for his former schoolmate have definitely caught up.

All that time they've been spending together: studying, watching movies, eating dinner, with a sprinkle of light-hearted bickering in between... Tobio feels like he's not only gotten his friend back but something more. ]

Then... Please allow me to take you out on one. [ Tobio's face is burning red as he boldly keeps his gaze on Kindaichi. He won't let himself take this second chance for granted. ]

[Kindaichi's eyes stay glued to the table while Kageyama confirms what he just said. Your ideal date is...any date with me? He waits for the blow, for the rejection, for the not-so-gentle let down, confirmation that Kageyama doesn't feel any differently than he did in middle school. And it's a terrible wait, Kindaichi steeling himself to have his heart broken all over again, and only just after having opened it up again.

[But then Kageyama says what he says next, and Kindaichi's head snaps up, eyes wide.]

Hehh-- What?!

Really?!

[No way. No way, no way, no way, no-- Is this really happening? Kindaichi idly realizes that he's making and idiot out of himself, but it can't be stopped.]

H-hey, don't fuck with me man, alright?! I'm serious right now!

[ Tobio's shoulders fall a little. He wonders just how severe the impression Kindaichi had of him from before that the other man won't even believe Tobio when he's earnestly asking him out on a date. ]

I'm not fucking with you. I'm serious. I want to take you out on a date. [ His cheeks feel like they're about to fall off from how much they're burning. ]

[ A beat later, ] I like you, okay... [ He admits softly, not used to being vulnerable in this way. ]

[Truth be told, Kindaichi's impression of Kageyama has been severely damaged to the point where it is hard to believe that he'd genuinely ask him to do anything, let alone an actual date. But Kindaichi realizes as he watches Kageyama's posture slump that he's not being entirely fair. First of all, Kageyama has never been a liar - many other things, including a total jack ass, but never a liar. Secondly, he and Kageyama have been spending a lot of time together lately, and it's been...

[Well, Kindaichi thinks it's been nice anyway. Does Kageyama think it's been nice? He hopes--

[Wait, did Kageyama just say he liked him? Kindaichi blinks dumbly at the boy sitting across from him.]

You...do? Like...like--[Don't be an idiot, Yutaro! He's trying to tell you he--]

I like you too. [I love you, stupid. He loves him. He loves him! He loves him, and Kageyama wants to take him on a date, and he loves him--]

Let's do it then. We'll go on a date.

You and me. Just how you described it, huh? Yeah?

[ Tobio looks up in surprise when Kindaichi repeats the same words with such conviction, leaving no room for doubt. I like you, too. Kindaichi really likes him? He still likes him even after everything they've been through? He –

Tobio exhales deeply before a wobbly smile stretches across his lips. ] Yeah, let's do that.

[ He casts a shy glance over at Kindaichi, while his heart does a couple of flips. ] Let's get out of here. [ They clearly don't need to meet with anyone else here. Not anymore. ]
