The (Forced) Speed Dating Meme
But You're Here!

It's as the tagline says. Maybe you want to be here - have a few laughs, get to know some new people, make new friends, maybe take someone home - or, maybe you don't. Either way, you're here, complete with a name tag, a list of preferences, and a mysterious magical force that's keeping you from leaving. Whether compelled to sit at your table and wait for your next match, or to visit tables yourself, it's time to partake in a thrilling game of speed dating. And no, you don't have a choice, so you might as well make the most of it.
How to Play:
- Make a top level with your character name and canon in the subject line. Include in your top level what's written on your character's tag. You may use this format if you wish:
Feel free to assume that your character filled it out themselves, or that it was magically filled out for them when they arrived and they aren't able to remove it. Whatever suits your character best!
- Assume your character is either seated at a table awaiting matches, freely exploring the room, or being propelled by some otherworldly force to mingle. That is to say, tag around to other top levels and speed date away!
- It may be a good idea to put in your top-level some preferences for whether you are looking for shippy threads, friendship threads, funny threads, etc.. whatever you'd like!
- Tag around, have fun, be respectful, follow basic dwrp rules, etc.!
Anyone and everyone is welcome, including fandom characters, fandom OCs, canon OCs, AUs, CRAUs, etc.! Feel free to spread the word and thanks for playing!

[ let's change the subject. ]
Uhmm, a track star's like. Like. It's like. [ he's...never had to explain this to someone before. who the hell doesn't know what track and field is? Ryuji scratches the back of his head, foot tapping in frustration under the table. ] It means I'm really fast, dude. I'm good at runnin'.
[ or was. ]

I suppose you hold some sort of high-ranking title or something of that sort?
no subject
That's one way of lookin' at it! I was team captain for a while too 'cause of how good I was.
[ Ryuji chuckles. ]
Guess you could say I was a pretty big deal.
no subject
And what was the purpose of this running?
no subject
[ he mumbles something else under his breath. ] Is this speed dating or an interrogation?
no subject
[He sounds highly judgmental.]
That is entirely absurd.
no subject
Why the hell else would I keep doin' it, dude? If I thought it was boring I woulda bailed.

[ a frustrated sigh ]
Okay, since you're obviously the Fun Expert here. What do you do for fun?
[ did he not read the nametag? ]

Of course not. Don't be ridiculous.
no subject
Then where're you from? Some kinda weirdo No-Fun cult?
[ ...or maybe he's Amish? no wait, Amish people can have fun too can't they? ]
no subject
I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about.
no subject
but he's not here to do work. he's here to meet people. ]
So what do you do?
no subject
I have duties which are to be carried out.
Aside from that, I work on building my physical endurance.
[He also sometimes reads fairy tales, but he neglects to mention this.]
no subject
[ but, due to Ryuji's incredible tunnel vision and disinterest in continuing the topic at hand, he glosses over the incredibly vague and ominous statement D33 makes about carrying out "duties" and instead skips to the thing most relevant to his own interests. ]
Oh? You're into working out too?
[ maybe they do have something in common after all. ]
no subject
I am. Of course.
no subject
Well why didn't you say that sooner, man? I kinda wouldn't mind havin' another gym buddy if you're down for that sorta thing.
