[So persistent!! Blue tosses the tiny hanger-on a glare, rearranging his shirt. You're going to rumple it up, stoopid Red!!]
Calm down, will you? ...Do you even know how old you are now, or how much time has passed!?
[Detaching the sticky Octillery from himself, Blue sighs raggedly and tries to recall.] Sheesh. I'll have just graduated, I guess, so... like, 18? Maybe 19?
....Not like I really knew what you were up to in the meantime, so don't ask me....

[Fine then. Just leave me alone.]

[Had they been the same age, Blue would have just gone off on him then and there, he knows; how dare he act like the victim when he left in the first place! When Blue needed him... But he's older now, and more removed from the anger and the rawness of the pain, and annoyed as he is at what a pain it was to have to relive this, he drops a palm atop Red's hat again, and ruffles it.]
Quit Sobblin'. I told you everything'll be alright, didn't I?
Maybe... I dunno if you'll remember anything I've told you. But, if you want things to change, that's up to you, right?
[His hand lifts away.] My point is, I didn't really hate you. And I wanted to see you again.... So, if you're that choked up about it, gather up that lil' courage of yours and come see me again. Stupid.

[It’s still just Red, and all Red’s ever really wanted is Blue’s recognition. He stares at him for a long time, expression steeled, but some feeble hopefulness showing through his eyes.
[He moves stubbornly away again, and his eyes drop to the ground. But he nods. He’s not sure if he’ll remember either, and he’s not sure if he means it, but he nods.
[“Ok,” he almost says, but that’s a promise he’s not ready to make yet. Instead, he gives Blue one last look in the eye, then turns and begins heading the other way, unsure of where to go. He wonders idly if he’ll run into the real Blue - well, the Blue he remembers - if he stays here too long.
[Onward then, to ensure that doesn’t happen. He needs time to think more now than he ever has, decisions to make, or a conversation to forget. He wants back on the mountain, for eighteen or nineteen to come so he can see how it happens. Pikachu runs behind him, and Red doesn’t look back as he leaps onto his shoulder.
[Goodbye for now, Blue. Again.]
